I joined a new Flickr group at the end of December. The group is called “Project 365,” and it challenges me to take one photograph everyday. And let me tell you, a photo a day is really challenging. Even if you’re a photographer. For me, it’s easy to find wonderful scenes when I’m away from home and traveling, but the test for me with Project 365 is to figure out how to turn the everyday into art. So far, I’ve found the art in the most common places and things: a newly painted kitchen wall, salt-and-pepper shakers, my dog’s yawn, an old jukebox. I can’t wait to see where else my photographs are born from this year.
