I Missed “A Day in the Life of…” and “Shoot! The Day”

What Do I See (11/365)

Saturday, June 21, 2008 was designated as the day for this year’s “A Day in the Life of…” (DILO for short) photos on Flickr. And I missed it.

I remembered DILO on Friday, but then on Saturday the day’s activities got the best of me, and I ran around Knoxville and Gatlinburg WITHOUT my camera. Bummer! Of all the days! And I also forgot that Friday, June 20 was “Shoot! The Day”—too many things to remember!

Okay, so because I feel like a horrible artist/creative, what I’m going to do is propose my very own day of photography fun. I’m declaring my birthday, September 7, as “Lia’s Day to Shoot People and Things.” And other folks (those of you who missed DILO and Shoot!) can join me. I vow to strap a camera around my neck and promise to keep my finger on the trigger the entire day. From morning to night.

I have some time before my birthday (about 75 days, but who’s counting right?)—so if I can plan a little bit before, I could probably create a photo itinerary for myself. Visit some neat places in town, call some friends to model for me, photograph birthday cake, eat birthday cake…

If you want to join me on this photo adventure, send me a message using my contact form or leave a comment below. The more the merrier, right? Also, I wouldn’t feel as bad for missing these two internationally-recognized days of photography madness.
