Back from Nashville

Just got back from Nashville today after spending the past few days attending public communications workshops for the public power industry.  I met some great people, and I also realized that I was way ahead of the curve when it came to using social media. It’s nice to feel on the cutting edge sometimes. LOL.

It’s good to be back at home, but I would really like to spend some more time exploring Nashville. I stayed at the Hilton Nashville Downtown (gorgeous!), and it was in the center of some cool honky tonks (just a couple of blocks away from the “Batman” building – see the photo above). I was also close to the Vanderbilt area and had dinner near Vandy a couple of nights. Monday night, I took a quick shopping trip at the Green Hills Mall (big sale at Nine West) and drove past some of the mansions in the neighborhood. New money must be nice!

While I was there, the Titans played the Colts (Monday night football and the Titans won!). So it was “Code Blue” all around town. Also, Rudy Giuliani was next door as part of a huge motivational speaking conference. I would like to have attended that event, too. Bruce Pearl was part of that “Get Motivated” conference. I had the pleasure of sharing an elevator ride with him at the Hilton. Oh, and Sandra Day O’Connor was across the street at the Economic Conference for Women. Another good event!

I’ve got to check my calendar to find a time when Brandon and I can take a few days sightseeing in Nashville. I’d love to take a walk down Music Row and check out the Grand Ole Opry sometime. But for now, I’ve got some unpacking and laundry to do… Ugh.

I do have some great news to post, so check back soon. There are some new Blurb products out there that I’m so excited about. And I’ve got some great projects in the works. I’ve got a busy fall/winter ahead. Thank goodness we fall back this coming weekend. I sure could use that extra hour.

Ciao for now!

Glad you had fun. And you’re farther out on the cutting edge than you give yourself credit for!

I think we’re headed to Nashville on December 13th to see the Rockettes for Angie’s birthday.
