Shake it like a POLADROID picture…
In February this year, Polaroid announced that it will no longer produce instant film. I wanted to cry. The site savepolaroid.com was born, along with other websites and online groups campaigning to save instant film.
I know that my mom will be extremely sad when it’s gone. She still uses her Polaroid camera on occasion. In fact, last year in France, she had a waiter take our picture with her Polaroid! (See the Polaroid developing in the waiter’s hand in the pic below?)
Well, thanks to Poladroid, anyone with a computer can have digital Polaroids develop right on their desktops. The red shoes at the top of the blog post is a Poladroid photo. Looks so real, right?
Brandon introduced me to Poladroid, and I’ve been playing with it for the past hour while watching The Office and 30 Rock. My favorite shows!
What makes Poladroid so fun, is that it’s interactive. Yes, you can actually shake your Poladroid photo and watch it develop. Check out the video demo below:
Cool, huh? Also, after you download Poladroid and start developing images, you can upload your newly Poladroided images to the Poladroid Flickr group. The images Flickr peeps are uploading look awesome.
Here’s another pic I developed tonight. It’s addictive, so be warned!
