A Gift
What an awesome surprise from my client, Felix! I had worked with him on his book about the NY Swiss Gymnastics Society, and as a “Thank You,” Felix mailed me this wonderful piece of art! Thank you, Felix, for being so awesome! SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "A Gift", url: "http://www.thinklia.com/2009/02/22/a-gift/" }); Read More
Love Notes
It’s all about LOVE. This book is the story of a budding relationship…as told through text messages. I think it’s interesting that these two kept files of their texts. It’s just like saving old love letters, right? This is just one reason why I love making books. It’s awesome to get the chance to design a love story. (Below is just a peek. The rest is for the twosome only…) SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Love... Read More
Around the World
Wow. This was the most challenging and exciting book I’ve made in the past year. It’s more than 300 pages of photographs and text adapted from a family’s blog of their three-month vacation around the world. What’s amazing about this book is that it could be used as a geography/world history textbook. The photographs are awesome, and the information it contains is excellent. Did you know that one silk worm cocoon can make 1000... Read More
A Book of Surprises!
This was a really neat book to create! My client, Kelley, organized an awesome anniversary surprise for her parents: a Fourth of July PARADE in Martha’s Vineyard. Family members marched down the streets, carrying signs and banners with photos of the happy couple through the years. Click here for a preview of the book. SISTERS
My client, Ginny, called me in the fall of 2008 to ask about creating a book of photos of her two daughters. When she called, her family had just been evacuated from Houston, Texas because of Hurricane Ike. She had taken the family photos from their house and wanted to do something to preserve the prints and the memories. And she knew that a photo book would be a great way to organize the photos and be a wonderful gift to her daughters and other... Read More
Yisrael Asks A Question
I had the honor and pleasure of working with Yisrael and his mom in putting this book together (the layout, select editing, and publishing). All of the illustrations were done by Yisrael and his mother. And they are truly wonderful to look at. The book’s introduction was written by a child psychologist in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In the intro, she explains the importance of encouraging children to ask questions (like Yisrael). And some of the... Read More
