Fortune

Got this awesome fortune in my fortune cookie from a dinner at Mandarin House on Saturday night. The fortune says it all. I love cracking open the cookies and finding “good” fortunes. I suppose this isn’t really a fortune, but I love that it describes me perfectly. I think I’m going to have to start using this when I have to fill in the “about” section for things. Dear February: I Need More Photo Inspiration

It’s the second month of Project 365, and the challenge of taking one photograph a day is getting more difficult. I think I’ve exhausted the photos of my animals, and I know I’ve already taken photos of all my trinkets at home. And I’m not sure how many more selfies I can take (the bathroom mirror has been part of my photos for at least three days of Project 365). I go through Flickr’s Explore pages all the time to... Read More

New Favorite Person

I have a new favorite person. Her name is Ali Edwards. She’s a scrapbooking celebrity. Now, I know I’m not really the scrapbooking type, but all the stuff she does is beyond cute. I think it’s quite artistic. There’s depth to her work, and I call it more of mixed media collages than scrapbooking. If you’re curious, visit her blog: aliedwards.typepad.com. And she also has a Flickr site. You’ll read and see pictures... Read More

I Miss France

Brandon and I just returned from a wonderful week in France, where we strolled through the streets of Nice and Paris and gawked at expensive cars parading around Monte Carlo, Monaco. It’s back to work, back to school, and I am totally bummed. I thought that it might be a bit of jet lag, but now I realize that I’m just sad. I sat in my cubicle at work today, and I thought about how a lot of what I’m doing has very little value–to... Read More

The Countdown Begins

I just turned 26 a few weeks ago. Not a milestone really, but I am now officially on the downhill of adulthood I believe. I’m too close to 30 (I’ll probably have to start buying Oil of Olay here pretty soon), and I’m starting to feel uncomfortable. Sounds Debbie Downerish, but it’s true. The other day I was reading through an old issue of STEP Inside Design, and I came across that wonderful “ink & circumstance”... Read More
