Girl Talk at the Valarium

Girl Talk at the Valarium (Knoxville, TN) from Lia Ballentine on Vimeo. Saw Girl Talk Wednesday night at the Valarium, and I’m still recovering! I danced so hard, I left the venue stinky, sweaty, and wobbly. Check out the short clips to see how much fun was had at the concert! (By the way, I love my Flip Mino!) And if you don’t know who Girl Talk is, you need to find out. Click here to name your price for Girl Talk’s “Feed... Read More

GLOW

GLOW from Lia Ballentine on Vimeo. Brandon and I took a quick trip to the Pellissippi State Hot Air Balloon Festival this past weekend. This is the 5th year that Pellissippi held the festival, which featured more than 25 hot air balloons from the region. And like all festivals, there were arts and craft vendors, all kinds of greasy festival foods, children’s games, and live music. When we walked in through the gates, the cover band was... Read More

Boom! Boom! Boomsday!

A Bit of Boomsday Brandon and I headed downtown on August 31 to join the insane crowds at the Boomsday fireworks show. Boomsday is the best fireworks display in the South! It’s 30 minutes of loud bursts and bright colors. And it’s free. (Here’s a Boomsday parking tip: Pay $3 and park at the Kerbela Temple behind the huge JFG sign. It’s worth it. Just park and walk down, either to Baptist Hospital or across the Gay Street... Read More

Real Estate Photography

[This is a repost from a FinestraPhoto post that I wrote recently. I know that's probably cheating, but I figured it would be fun to share this adventure here as well.] We’ve been busy! We recently finished photographing home interiors for a local developer, Maplewood Development. The company just finished doing work in a brand new lake front community in West Knoxville called Jefferson Park (on Fort Loudoun Lake). The two new homes are spectacular.... Read More

Photowalk at UT Gardens

1. Sombrero!, 2. I want this., 3. Tea Cups, 4. Bird Houses, 5. Popcorn, 6. Cones and Petals Brandon was assigned to photograph Blooms Days at the UT Gardens on Saturday (his company is one of the major sponsors of the event). I had to take a break from working on my computer, so I tagged along and did a photowalk around the gardens. We’ve actually done several photo shoots at the UT Gardens (as recent as two weeks ago), but sometimes it’s... Read More

Love in Bloom

We had a great engagement photo shoot at the UT Gardens with Christina and Chris. (I know, it’s cute that their names match!) There was a possibility of heavy rain today, but our morning session was timed just right—and we were able to avoid a downpour. Thank goodness! Christina and Chris are a lovely couple. Plus, they’re fun loving and wonderful to photograph. Chris, who I’ve known for a little more than a year now, is such... Read More
