Just a couple of photos from Morgan and Andrew’s wedding at Maryville College (May 31, 2008). Will post more here and on the FinestraPhoto gallery and blog. Check back soon!
This was our first time to photograph/attend a wedding at Maryville College. MC is a beautiful campus, and the ceremony took places in the woods at […]

Happy Earth Day! To celebrate, I’m going to copy post Photojojo’s “10 Tips for Being a Greener Photographer,” which is a totally awesome article on simple ways to reduce your footprint as a creative. I also added my own green thoughts to the article (highlighted)—so check it out!

My processed photo glazed on wood won an award at the Dogwood Arts Fine Arts Show. I got a juror citation! One of four winners out of more than 300+ entries from regional artists? Not bad, huh?

Flickr Friday: Tilt-Shift Photography

March 22nd, 2008  |  by thinklia  |  published in Photography

This week on Flickr, I’ve been browsing photographers’ tilt-shift images (I think the “fake miniature” effect is really neat). And above is my first attempt at trying to create a tilt-shift image using Adobe Photoshop and a few simple steps (which I’ll explain below).

Flickr Friday: Picnik, anyone?

March 14th, 2008  |  by thinklia  |  published in Reviews

One of the neat things about Flickr is that not only do you have a great place to share your photos, but Flickr also offers you ways to do neat things with your images. Flickr has partnered with several great companies to deliver amazing photo products, and recently, Flickr has teamed up with Picnik—a free […]

Cross Processing for Vintage Views

March 11th, 2008  |  by thinklia  |  published in Photography

I love the look of vintage photographs, even if they’re really new photos that have just been processed to have that retro feel. I’ve been wanting to edit some images to give them that classic, antiqued look—but I didn’t know where to start. Lucky for me, a friend forwarded me a link to a recent […]

Flickr Friday: Fortunes!

March 8th, 2008  |  by thinklia  |  published in Photography

For yesterday’s Project 365 photo, I photographed this crazy fortune cookie that I got at work. It’s a fortune cookie covered with white chocolate and sprinkles—and it’s a marketing piece for a public relations management company. Clever. Because inside the cookie was not a fortune, but an ad. But anyway… The cookie itself tasted pretty […]

Flickr Friday

February 22nd, 2008  |  by thinklia  |  published in Photography

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to start my Flickr Friday postings. I had the wonderful surprise of being able to access the Flickr website at work, which had been banned by our IT department for a few months now. I noticed that it was back when I opened up iGoogle and my Flickr gadget actually had images displayed instead of little red Xs all over the place. It was like Christmas.

47 Days

February 18th, 2008  |  by thinklia  |  published in Photography

Wow. I’ve made it 47 days into Project 365. That’s awesome, and I’m really proud of myself. Above is a mosaic of the last 12 days. I’m really loving my most recent photo of my red flats; and of course, the fortune cookie photo says a lot about this project and who I am.
